Disclaimer Policy

Revised for website and mobile applications

Effective date: August 1, 2026 | Last updated: August 1, 2026

IMPORTANT: Lydia.com provides information and a community forum. It does not provide medical, mental-health, legal, financial, emergency, or other professional services. In an emergency, call 911 or the appropriate local emergency number. In the United States, call or text 988 for suicide or crisis support.

1. Scope and Acceptance

This Disclaimer applies to the Lydia.com website, Lydia.com mobile applications, and related content, features, communications, and services (collectively, the "Services") operated by Lydia.com LLC ("Lydia," "we," "us," or "our"). It supplements, and should be read together with, our Terms and Conditions, Privacy Policy, Community Guidelines, Child Safety Policy, and any other notices displayed within the Services.

By accessing or using the Services, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Disclaimer. If you do not agree, do not use the Services. If this Disclaimer conflicts with the Terms and Conditions, the Terms and Conditions control to the extent of the conflict.

2. General Information Only

Content made available through Lydia is intended for general informational, educational, editorial, and community-discussion purposes. It is not tailored to your individual circumstances and should not be treated as a substitute for independent judgment or advice from a suitably qualified professional.

Although we aim to publish thoughtful and evidence-informed material, information may become outdated, incomplete, inaccurate, or unsuitable for a particular person or situation. You are responsible for verifying information before relying on it or acting upon it.

3. No Medical, Mental-Health, or Therapeutic Services

Lydia is not a healthcare provider, medical practice, counseling service, psychotherapy service, crisis service, or substitute for professional care. Articles, discussions, comments, messages, prompts, and other materials available through the Services do not constitute diagnosis, treatment, therapy, counseling, clinical advice, or a professional standard of care.

Do not disregard, delay, or discontinue professional medical or mental-health advice because of something you read or receive through Lydia. Questions about symptoms, medications, treatment, pregnancy, nutrition, exercise, mental health, or personal safety should be directed to an appropriately qualified healthcare professional who can assess your individual circumstances.

No doctor-patient, therapist-client, counselor-client, or other healthcare relationship is created by your use of the Services, by communications with Lydia personnel, or by interaction with other users.

Content discussing nutrition, supplements, wellness products, or exercise has not been evaluated by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration and is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease.

4. Emergencies and Crisis Situations

Lydia is not designed or staffed to respond to emergencies, imminent danger, abuse in progress, suicidal thoughts, self-harm, threats of violence, or other urgent crises. We do not guarantee that posts, messages, reports, or requests for help will be reviewed immediately or at all.

If you or another person may be in immediate danger, call 911 or the appropriate local emergency number. In the United States and its territories, you may call or text 988 to reach the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline. Individuals affected by domestic violence or abuse may contact the National Domestic Violence Hotline at 1-800-799-7233 or text "START" to 88788. Individuals affected by disordered eating may contact the National Alliance for Eating Disorders helpline. Users outside the United States should contact their local emergency services or an appropriate crisis resource.

Do not use Lydia as your sole means of seeking emergency help, reporting a crime, preserving evidence, or obtaining protection from abuse, stalking, exploitation, or violence.

5. No Legal, Financial, Employment, or Other Professional Advice

The Services may discuss legal rights, personal finance, employment, relationships, housing, consumer issues, safety, or other topics with significant consequences. Such material is general information only and is not legal, financial, tax, investment, insurance, employment, compliance, or other professional advice.

Laws, regulations, professional standards, and available remedies vary by jurisdiction and change over time. Consult a qualified professional before making decisions that may affect your rights, finances, health, safety, or legal obligations. No attorney-client, fiduciary, adviser-client, or other professional relationship is created through use of the Services.

6. User-Generated Content and Peer Communications

The Services may allow users to publish posts, comments, profiles, messages, recommendations, experiences, links, or other material ("User Content"). User Content reflects the views and experiences of the person who submitted it, not necessarily those of Lydia. We do not adopt, endorse, verify, or guarantee User Content merely because it appears on the Services.

Other users are not acting as Lydia's employees, agents, clinicians, counselors, attorneys, financial advisers, or representatives. Advice or support offered by another user may be inaccurate, incomplete, harmful, unlawful, or inappropriate for you. Exercise caution, protect your personal information, and obtain professional assistance where appropriate.

We may moderate, restrict, remove, preserve, or report content in accordance with our policies and applicable law, but we do not undertake a general duty to monitor all content or communications. Moderation is not a guarantee of safety, accuracy, legality, confidentiality, or suitability.

7. In-Person and Off-Platform Interactions

Lydia may help users identify and communicate with people they choose to meet in person or otherwise interact with off the Services. Lydia cannot verify the identity, intentions, background, or trustworthiness of any user, and does not investigate, screen, or supervise in-person or off-platform interactions between users.

If you choose to meet another user or take a conversation off-platform, you do so voluntarily and at your own discretion, and you assume the risks of doing so. Consider using a public place for an initial meeting, telling a trusted person your plans, arranging your own transportation, and using the judgment you would apply to meeting anyone new. See our Terms and Conditions for the related assumption-of-risk terms that also apply to your use of the Services.

8. Personal Information and Confidentiality

Lydia is a community platform, not a confidential professional service. Information you post or share may be seen, copied, saved, disclosed, or misused by others, depending on the feature and your settings. Do not share information that you would not want others to know, including sensitive health, financial, legal, identity, location, or safety information.

Communications through Lydia are not protected by medical, therapeutic, attorney-client, clergy, or other professional privilege merely because they concern sensitive matters. Our handling of personal information is described in the Privacy Policy.

9. Editorial Content, Sources, and Updates

Lydia may summarize or discuss research, news, publications, public resources, and third-party viewpoints. We seek to represent sources fairly, but summaries necessarily omit detail and may contain interpretation. A citation or link does not mean that Lydia endorses every statement, policy, product, or viewpoint of the source.

Publication dates matter. Scientific knowledge, public guidance, laws, prices, availability, and other facts may change after content is published. We may update, correct, or remove content without notice, but we are not obligated to update every item.

10. Artificial Intelligence and Automated Systems

Lydia may use artificial intelligence or automated tools to assist with drafting, editing, translation, recommendation, search, safety review, moderation, classification, or other functions. Automated outputs can be inaccurate, incomplete, biased, misleading, or inappropriate and may fail to identify relevant context or risk.

AI-assisted content is not professional advice and should be independently reviewed and verified before use. No representation is made that AI-generated or AI-assisted material is original, error-free, non-infringing, or suitable for a particular purpose. Decisions with material health, safety, legal, financial, or personal consequences should not be based solely on automated output. Where applicable law requires disclosure of AI-generated or AI-assisted content, Lydia intends to comply with those requirements.

11. Third-Party Links, Platforms, Products, and Services

The Services may contain links to, integrations with, or references to third-party websites, applications, app stores, products, professionals, organizations, advertisements, or services. Third parties operate independently under their own terms and privacy practices. Lydia does not control and is not responsible for their availability, security, content, conduct, accuracy, accessibility, products, services, or handling of information.

A link, mention, directory listing, or technical integration does not necessarily constitute endorsement, sponsorship, partnership, or recommendation. You are responsible for evaluating third-party offerings and resolving any transaction, complaint, warranty, privacy, or service issue directly with the relevant provider.

12. Reviews, Recommendations, Sponsorships, and Affiliate Links

Lydia may publish reviews or recommendations and may receive products, services, compensation, sponsorship, or affiliate commissions. Where a material relationship could affect how a reasonable person evaluates an endorsement, we disclose that relationship clearly and conspicuously near the relevant content, consistent with the FTC's Endorsement Guides (16 C.F.R. Part 255) and other applicable advertising-disclosure law.

Reviews and recommendations represent good-faith opinions at the time of publication. Individual experiences vary, and no review, testimonial, endorsement, or recommendation guarantees that you will obtain the same result. Conduct your own assessment before purchasing, using, or relying on a product or service.

13. No Guarantees

Lydia does not guarantee any particular outcome from using the Services, following information presented through them, participating in the community, contacting another user, or using a third-party resource. Personal, relational, professional, health, financial, and other outcomes depend on circumstances beyond our knowledge or control.

Testimonials, personal stories, case examples, and descriptions of outcomes are illustrative and may not be typical. Past results do not guarantee future results.

14. Assumption of Responsibility

You remain responsible for your decisions, communications, conduct, safety precautions, and use of information obtained through the Services. Before acting, consider your circumstances, verify material facts, use reasonable judgment, and seek qualified assistance where appropriate.

Nothing in this Disclaimer requires you to waive rights that cannot lawfully be waived, and nothing limits any responsibility that cannot lawfully be excluded.

15. Disclaimer of Warranties

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, THE SERVICES AND ALL CONTENT, FEATURES, USER CONTENT, AND MATERIALS MADE AVAILABLE THROUGH THEM ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE," WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, STATUTORY, OR OTHERWISE. LYDIA DISCLAIMS, TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, ACCURACY, COMPLETENESS, SECURITY, AVAILABILITY, AND QUIET ENJOYMENT.

We do not warrant that the Services will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, free from harmful components, or compatible with every device or system, or that content or communications will be preserved, delivered, reviewed, or removed within any particular period.

16. Limitation of Liability

The limitations of liability governing use of the Services are set out in the Lydia.com Terms and Conditions and are incorporated into this Disclaimer by reference. To avoid inconsistency, this Disclaimer does not create a separate or broader limitation than the Terms and Conditions.

Some jurisdictions do not permit certain exclusions or limitations. In those jurisdictions, the relevant provisions apply only to the maximum extent permitted by law. Nothing in this Disclaimer excludes or limits liability where doing so would be unlawful.

17. Changes to this Disclaimer

We may revise this Disclaimer from time to time. The "Last updated" date identifies the most recent revision. Material changes may also be communicated through the Services where appropriate. Your continued use of the Services after an updated Disclaimer becomes effective constitutes acknowledgment of the revised Disclaimer, subject to applicable law.
