TERMS AND CONDITIONS
Lydia.com™
A Texas Limited Liability Company
Effective Date: September 1st, 2026 | Last Updated: September 1st, 2026
These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) form a binding agreement between you and Lydia.com LLC, a Texas limited liability company (“Lydia™,” “Lydia.com,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), governing your access to and use of the Lydia.com website, the Lydia™ mobile applications, and all related content, features, and services (collectively, the “Services”).
By creating an account, accessing, or using the Services, you agree to be bound by these Terms, our Privacy Policy, our Disclaimer, our Community Guidelines, and our Child Safety Policy, each of which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. If you do not agree, do not access or use the Services.
The Services are intended for adult use. You must be at least 18 years old to create an account or use the Services. By using the Services, you represent and warrant that you are at least 18, that you have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms, and that all registration information you provide is truthful, current, and accurate.
Lydia™ is designed with women aged 25 and older primarily in mind, but eligibility to register is governed by this Section, not by that design intent. We reserve the right to request age verification and to suspend or terminate any account we reasonably believe belongs to a minor, consistent with our Child Safety Policy.
Lydia.com is a community platform that helps women discover, converse with, and build platonic friendships with other women, including through written messages, published articles and community posts, and voice or video conversations. Lydia™ does not provide introduction, matchmaking, dating, background-check, or escort services. Features and availability may change, be added, or be discontinued at our discretion, with or without notice.
3.1 Registration.
To use most features of the Services, you must create an account using accurate information, including a valid email address.
3.2 Account Security.
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us immediately at Lydia@lydia.com if you suspect unauthorized use of your account.
3.3 One Account.
Each person may maintain only one active account, except where we expressly permit otherwise.
3.4 Accuracy.
You agree to keep your profile and account information current and accurate, and not to impersonate any other person or misrepresent your identity, age, or affiliation with any person or entity.
When using the Services, you agree not to:
We rely on user reports and our own review to enforce this Section. Violations may result in content removal, warnings, suspension, or termination of your account, at our discretion and consistent with our Community Guidelines.
Lydia™ is built to help genuine friendships develop, which may include voice calls, video calls, and, over time, meeting in person. Please read this Section carefully.
5.1 We Do Not Screen Users.
Lydia™ does not conduct criminal background checks and cannot verify the identity, intentions, or trustworthiness of any user. Profile information is supplied by users and is not independently verified by Lydia™ unless we expressly state otherwise for a specific feature.
5.2 You Choose to Communicate and Meet at Your Own Risk.
Any decision to continue a conversation off-platform, share personal contact information, speak by voice or video, or meet another user in person is entirely your own choice and is made at your own risk. Lydia™ is not responsible for the conduct of any user, on or off the Services.
5.3 Safety Precautions.
We strongly encourage you to:
5.4 Reporting.
If you experience or witness harassment, threats, suspected fraud, suspected exploitation of a minor, or any conduct that concerns you, report it through the Services or contact us at Lydia@lydia.com. If you are in immediate danger, contact 911 or your local emergency services first. Additional crisis resources are listed in our Disclaimer.
5.5 Assumption of Risk.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, you assume all risk arising from your interactions with other users, including in-person meetings and off-platform communications, and you release Lydia.com LLC from claims, damages, or losses arising from those interactions, except where such release is prohibited by law.
6.1 Ownership.
You retain ownership of the posts, comments, profile information, photos, and other material you submit to the Services (“User Content”).
6.2 License to Lydia.
By submitting User Content, you grant Lydia.com LLC a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free, sublicensable license to host, store, reproduce, display, adapt (for example, resizing an image), and distribute that User Content solely to operate, promote, and improve the Services. This license ends when you delete the content or your account, except where content has already been shared with other users, appears in another member’s records (such as saved messages), or retention is required for safety, legal, or backup purposes.
6.3 Your Responsibility.
You are solely responsible for your User Content and confirm that you have the rights necessary to post it and that it does not violate these Terms, our Community Guidelines, or applicable law.
6.4 Moderation.
We may, but are not obligated to, review, remove, or restrict User Content or accounts that we believe violate these Terms, our Community Guidelines, or our Child Safety Policy.
Your use of the Services is also governed by our Community Guidelines and our Child Safety Policy, which are incorporated into these Terms by reference. Those policies contain additional detail on prohibited conduct, content standards, and our approach to reports involving minors. If a conflict arises between this Section and Sections 4 or 5 above, the more protective provision applies.
The Lydia™ name, the Lydia.com and Lydia™ marks, the Coffee Table Test™ concept, our logos, and the design, text, graphics, and software of the Services (excluding User Content) are the property of Lydia.com LLC or our licensors and are protected by trademark, copyright, and other intellectual property laws. Except for the limited right to access and use the Services as permitted by these Terms, no right, title, or license is granted to you in our intellectual property.
9.1 Paid Features.
Lydia™ may offer optional paid features, such as premium membership tiers, verification services, paid events, or merchandise (collectively, “Paid Services”). Pricing and features of Paid Services will be presented to you before purchase.
9.2 Billing.
If you purchase a subscription, you authorize us (or our payment processor) to charge your chosen payment method on a recurring basis until you cancel.
9.3 Cancellation.
You may cancel a subscription at any time through your account settings or by contacting us at Lydia@lydia.com. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period, and you will not be charged for subsequent periods.
9.4 Refunds.
Except where required by applicable law, fees are non-refundable, including for partial billing periods.
9.5 Merchandise and Donations.
Purchases of physical merchandise and donations made through the Services are subject to any additional terms presented at the time of purchase.
The Services may link to or integrate with third-party websites, applications, or services that we do not control, including app stores and payment processors. We are not responsible for the content, policies, or practices of any third party. Your use of any third-party service is governed by that party’s own terms.
The Services, and all content and features made available through them, are provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis, without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Services will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free, or that any user’s identity, statements, or intentions are accurate. Additional disclaimers, including regarding the informational nature of content published on Lydia™ and the absence of any professional relationship created by use of the Services, are set out in our Disclaimer, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference.
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Lydia.com LLC, its owners, officers, employees, and agents will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, data, goodwill, or personal safety, arising out of or related to your use of the Services, your interactions with other users (including in-person meetings), or these Terms, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, our total aggregate liability arising out of or relating to the Services or these Terms will not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid to Lydia.com LLC in the twelve (12) months before the event giving rise to the claim, or (b) one hundred U.S. dollars ($100).
Nothing in this Section limits any liability that cannot be limited or excluded under applicable law, including for gross negligence, willful misconduct, or death or personal injury caused by our negligence.
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Lydia.com LLC, its owners, officers, employees, and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses, including reasonable attorneys’ fees, arising out of or related to: (a) your use of the Services; (b) your User Content; (c) your violation of these Terms; or (d) your violation of any right of another person, including in connection with an in-person meeting or off-platform interaction arranged through the Services.
14.1 By You.
You may stop using the Services and delete your account at any time through your account settings.
14.2 By Us.
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Services, with or without notice, if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms, our Community Guidelines, or our Child Safety Policy, or to protect the safety of our community.
14.3 Effect of Termination.
Sections of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination — including Sections 5, 8, 11, 12, 13, and 15 — will survive.
15.1 Informal Resolution First.
Before filing a claim, you agree to contact us at Lydia@lydia.com and attempt in good faith to resolve the dispute informally for at least thirty (30) days.
15.2 Binding Arbitration.
If a dispute is not resolved informally, you and Lydia.com LLC agree that any dispute, claim, or controversy arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Services will be resolved by binding arbitration seated in Harris County, Texas, rather than in court, except that either party may bring an individual claim in small claims court where eligible.
15.3 Class Action Waiver.
You and Lydia.com LLC agree that any arbitration will be conducted on an individual basis only, and not as a class, consolidated, or representative action, to the fullest extent permitted by law.
15.4 Exceptions.
Either party may seek injunctive or other equitable relief in the courts of Harris County, Texas, to prevent actual or threatened infringement, misappropriation, or violation of intellectual property rights, or unauthorized access to the Services.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles, except to the extent preempted by U.S. federal law. Subject to Section 15, the state and federal courts located in Harris County, Texas will have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute not subject to arbitration.
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will provide notice through the Services or by other reasonable means before the changes take effect. Your continued use of the Services after the updated Terms become effective constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
18.1 Entire Agreement.
These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, Disclaimer, Community Guidelines, and Child Safety Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Lydia.com LLC regarding the Services and supersede any prior agreements or understandings.
18.2 Severability.
If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect, and the unenforceable provision will be replaced by a valid provision that most closely reflects its intent.
18.3 No Waiver.
Our failure to enforce any provision of these Terms is not a waiver of our right to do so later.
18.4 Assignment.
You may not assign these Terms without our prior written consent. We may assign these Terms in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
18.5 No Agency.
Nothing in these Terms creates a partnership, joint venture, employment, or agency relationship between you and Lydia.com LLC.
